To continue the legacy of Bishop Rucibigango Leo and his wife, Daphrose, the LeDa Rucibigango Vanguard Organization was founded. The motivation behind this project came from their love of children and their desire to help those in need.

 

Bishop Rucibigango Leo and Daphrose were affectionately known as Bishop and Mama Bishop by many. They provided care and support for numerous children. During their time in Uganda, Bishop Leo initiated a children's home in Luweero, ensuring that the children had access to food, shelter, and love. Their own children viewed the home as a boarding school, with their father as the principal and their mother as the disciplinarian. The house was always bustling, with a minimum of 15 children residing there.

 

Gertrude Rucibigango, their eldest child, remembers very clearly her father frequently bringing home children he encountered in need on his way from the market. He would request his wife's assistance in welcoming and settling them in. These children swiftly became an integral part of the family. Despite having seven biological children, the Rucibigangos also adopted many others.

 

Upon their return to Rwanda, the family embarked on a search for a suitable church to join but struggled to find one that resonated with them. As a result, they, alongside Apostle Masasu Joshua, founded Restoration Church. Around 1997, Bishop Leo ventured to Kibilira (now gatumba) Bishop Leo had a strong determination to spread the word of God, even though many in the church were fearful of going to certain places. In Gatumba, he took it upon himself to establish an orphanage, offering numerous children food, shelter, clothing, and education.

 

In 2002, nine of the orphanage's children were given an amazing chance. They had the opportunity to visit places like America, England, Scotland, Spain, Canada, and Northern Ireland on tour with the African Children's Choir. Their lives were completely changed by this amazing event, which gave them hope and provided them with new possibilities. Many of those children went on to become doctors, lawyers, teachers, and engineers as they got older.

 

Following Bishop Leo's passing in 2016, Daphrose carried on their work. She penned an autobiography called "The Rucibigango Chronicles," chronicling their remarkable journey. Sadly, she departed from this world on the very day the book was being printed.

 

In order to honor the legacy of Bishop Rucibigango Leo and Daphrose, their family established the LeDa Rucibigango Vanguard Organization. This organization continues their noble mission of providing care, education, and hope to those in need. The family extends an invitation to everyone to join them in making the world a better place. By contributing in any way possible, individuals can keep the spirit of Bishop Leo and Daphrose alive, supporting their vision and expanding their impact on the world.
